E.L. Doctorow once said that “writing a novel is like driving a car at night. You can only see as far as your headlights, but you can make the whole trip that way.”
Lately, I’ve been seeing life kind of like this — a long journey and I want to see farther ahead than I can. My “headlights” only show the way so much, and these days I think mine might be dimmer than usual! But tonight, this reminder came. You don’t have to see where you’re going or everything you’ll pass along the way.
And I can make the whole trip like this!
Comforting. Good advice, I think.
