It’s Chili Weather!

In central Kentucky, the thermometer has dipped into the 30s for the first time this season.  And the change in temperature marks another seasonal change for me – the shift to “winter foods!”  My wife tells me this is a strange thing, but I’ve always associated certain foods with certain seasons.  For instance, cold-cut sandwiches are a warm-weather thing and meaty red chili is a cold-weather thing!  Here are a few other non-negotiable seasonal food choices for me:

Summer foods:

Potato salad
Little Debbie Zebra Cakes
Peanuts
Tortilla chips and salsa
Cold sandwiches

Winter foods:

Potato soup
Pot-roast
Sloppy Joe
Pound cake
Chili

Pretty random, I guess!  What about you?  Any foods that just say, “Summer” to you?  Is there a food you’re craving this time of year as the temperature drops?  Let us hear from you in the comments.
